The images consist of four anatomical poses, split on two sheets. Each pose is carefully arranged to reveal the maximum extent of the meridians.
The Zen meridians are shown in contrasting shades of the TCM linework. Additional colour coding is used where needed to show where the two traditions disagree. Each meridian is labelled at the extremities and each point is numbered.
The YIN sheet (left, front side) best displays the Lung, Liver, Stomach, Spleen, Kidney, Gall Bladder, Pericardium, Conception Vessel.
The YANG sheet (back, right side) best displays Bladder, Small Intestine, Large Intestine,Heart,Triple Heater, Governing Vessel.
The point categories: five shu, five phase, xi-cleft, yuan-source, luo-connecting, back-shu, front-mu, and the huatuojiaji points - are also marked on the front and back images.
A colour-coded legend describes the relationship of each point to its meridian.
